It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

This book was a very inspiring read for me because it made me feel what the main character was feeling and not a lot of books that I have read have done that. But really their is not one book that I have read by Collen that I have even not liked. So I already went into this book with a confident nudge that it would be good and jus the summary of the book made me want to get it as soon as possible. Here is the summary below ūüôā

SOMETIMES THE ONE WHO LOVES YOU IS THE ONE WHO HURTS YOU THE MOST

Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up – she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, and maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily, but Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing.

As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan – her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

With this bold and deeply personal novel, Colleen Hoover delivers a heart-wrenching story that breaks exciting new ground for her as a writer. It Ends With Us is an unforgettable tale of love that comes at the ultimate price.

I don’t want to say any details about this book because I want you to read it, but simply this:

Ryle- Annoying man who needs to work on himself

Lily-¬† She’s strong and I loved her for that .

Marshall- Rich af, but not stuck up about it.

Allysa- Absolutely loved her and very loyal.

Lucy- I really don’t know what her role was in the book; she was kind of irrelevant.

Atlas- Heart Eyes ‚̧ ‚̧

I’m giving this book a 70 basically because it was really annoying to me. The book is about how a girl named Rory is being raped over and over again by a boy who is a hit in their town, but the thing is she tells nobody about it even her best friend until it is too late. In the beginning I was like this might actually be a good book you know and then she started do things that I was like even at that age I would of had a better sense of judgement that she did. The only people I can say that I enjoyed in this book would have to be Cam and Carl , but the rest of them were either disgusting ( Robin¬†and Rory’s Dad), Annoying (Robin’s Dad), or just¬†Stupid (Rory). I call¬†her stupid because sometimes she brought some things on to herself like in one part of the book she gets cornered in the corner of an alley and Robin gets her and instead of running she “froze up”. So it was parts like that that¬†I really could have reached through the book and¬†slapped her.¬†But¬†at some¬†parts¬†I saw where how the book got so many good reviews on the¬†internet. Just go read the book and you’ll see what I saw in the book.

Really inspiring book if you ask me. It really made me want to give thanks for all that I have right now and not live in the past, but the present. If you want a story about a boy and girl finding each other than I HIGHLY recommend this book.

Give A Boy A Gun by Todd Strasser

give¬†This book right here completely and I mean completely changed the way I looked, talked, and interacted with everybody and anybody I met. It made me want to hold the door for every person behind me and say sorry after I did something wrong. If you have ever been mean, harassed, or gone out of your way to hurt somebody, I think this book should be on your to do list this week to sit down and read because it will place you into somebody else’s shoes who is hurting and even though what the kids in the book¬†did wasn’t exactly the best idea, it did it’s job which was to get the reader’s and the bully’s¬†attention about what happens when you bully people. This book really taught me that there really is¬†more to the surface of a person and¬†I’m not even gonna review the book because there simply is nothing to say, but TREAT EVERYBODY LIKE YOU WANT TO BE TREATED. Simple.

Sugar By Deirdre Riordan Hall

sug

“I‚Äôm the fat Puerto Rican‚ÄďPolish girl who doesn‚Äôt feel like she belongs in her skin, or anywhere else for that matter. I‚Äôve always been too much and yet not enough.”

Sugar the main character in the book is obese and has a brother who is in the same condition who¬†treats her poorly. Sugar’s mother is bed ridden from all of the food she has eaten and blames the weight on all the kids she has given birth to. Sugar’s life is basically meaningless with all the dirty comments and bullying until she meets Even,¬†a boy who has lost his mom and is determined to get away from the town they live in. Suddenly, Sugar has something to look forward to and is excited about him. As Even and Sugar grow closer and closer Even teaches Sugar how to ride a motorcycle. As she falls in love with Even she realizes that the love in her heart for Even is filling the gap that was once her food. She begins to eat less and starts losing weight to her mother’s and brother’s dismay. Then one day Even doesn’t text Sugar and Sugar becomes worried ( I will not spoil this part for you, but tbh it is absolutely¬†heart shattering). After what happened Sugar knows that there is no way she can continue to live inside that house anymore. So she goes and stays with her brother who has lost weight and his fianc√©/¬†“soon to be wife”. At the end of the book Sugar realizes something that completely flips her whole life upside down and leaves her with a lot of questions and hope. Questions that will hopefully fill the gap of loss she has been feeling for a while now.

Falling For You by Lisa Schroeder

One of the most inspiring books I’ve read in a long time. This book talks about the main character Rae, and how her stepfather Dean treats her as though she is nothing. Her mother even though is treated with no respect continues to come back to Dean every… single… time. Rae through this hard time copes and uses poetry as an outlet. When Ms. Bloodshaw creates Poetry Matters in their school newspaper Rae submits her poetry with the author Anonymous. Through the poetry and the love that surrounds her Rae continued to fight and for that I admired her character in the book.
